Lt. Governor Deidre M. Henderson releases 2025 referendum results
SALT LAKE CITY (June 21, 2025) – Lt. Governor Deidre M. Henderson has released the official results of THE HB 267 PUBLIC SECTOR LABOR UNION AMENDMENTS ACT signature gathering process.
According to Utah Code § 20A-7-301(1), a person seeking to have a law passed by the Legislature submitted to a vote of the people needs legal signatures equal to 8% of the number of active voters in the state (140,748 signatures). Additionally, the referendum must meet the signature threshold of 8% of the number of active voters in at least 15 of 29 Senate districts.
County clerks have processed the submitted signatures and removal forms, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor has reviewed and certified the final count. The HB 267 referendum fulfilled the requirements described above and will be submitted to the voters of Utah for their approval or rejection.
