Governor Spencer Cox and Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson spent time with members of the Governor’s Century Club of Utah – those who have reached their 100th birthday and beyond. From mothers, to veterans, and everyday heroes, their impact on our state will resonate for generations.

Old-fashioned relationships aren’t so old-fashioned. Lt. Gov. Henderson sat down with leaders from rural Utah and international businesses at the One Utah Summit to discuss how strong connections benefit everyone. From local main streets to international markets, people choose to do business with people they trust.

Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson believes a career pause shouldn’t mean a career dead end. She met with people in the Return Utah program who shared how their experiences have had life-changing impact. From empty-nester moms stepping back into the office to retired veterans learning new skills, there are incredible people in our state ready, willing and able to learn. Utah

Apprenticeships are powerful ways to gain education and bolster the workforce. Lt. Gov. Henderson led a delegation to Indianapolis to meet with business and government leaders. The group learned how Indiana has structured the nation’s most advanced employer-driven apprenticeship program.

The great people at Habitat for Humanity of Summit and Wasatch Counties put hope into action. They roll up their sleeves alongside local families, working toward homeownership for every Utahn. Our staff service day involved hanging drywall and learning about the good work Habitat for Humanity does in Utah communities.

The Deer Creek Reservoir Intake Project used barges and cranes, scuba divers, and an intricate interconnection of cement slabs to upgrade the dam, instead of draining the reservoir. It is a feat of engineering innovation. This project helps shore up a long-term water supply for Utahns.
