Participating in the America 250 Walk 250 Challenge

Utah is challenging everyone to log 250 miles of movement in celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States. Lt. Gov. Henderson encouraged Utahns to get outside by joining Midway City government and business leaders at Wasatch Mountain State Park for a one mile hike.

The National Endowment for the Arts Chair visits Utah

For the first time in 10 years, the Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts came to the Beehive State. Mary Anne Carter and Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson toured the America 250 special collection at the Capitol and got a sneak peek of some of the exhibits that will be housed in the new Museum of Utah.

Speaking to students at Multicultural Youth Leadership Day

Hundreds of students from across the Wasatch Front came to the Capitol to be inspired. Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson spoke on the importance of personal narratives and shared her own journey to Utah’s executive branch. Students met with mentors, networked with each other, and took part in a mini job fair.

Hosting a special screening of “Suffs”

PBS aired the stage production of the Broadway musical “Suffs” and Lt. Gov. Henderson hosted a watch party in partnership with the Utah Historical Society. Hundreds of people came to hear the lieutenant governor speak about Utah’s involvement in the suffrage movement and enjoy the show.

Celebrating 200 years of Peru-US relations

The 200-year relationship between Peru and the United States is strong in our state. Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson spoke on the important milestone and read an official proclamation in the Capitol Rotunda. More than 45,000 Peruvians call Utah home and it is one of only three career consulates established in our state.
