50 years ago, the Federal Land Policy and Management Act set a standard for our public lands: keeping them publicly owned, and managed for balanced, sustainable use. Lt. Governor Henderson spoke at the anniversary, emphasizing the importance of a close working relationship among the Bureau of Land Management, states, counties, and tribes.

Brigham Young University honored Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson with the Alumni Achievement Award from the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences. Lt. Governor Henderson’s pathway to graduation wasn’t a traditional one, but she had professors who encouraged her all along the way. The current BYU students who filled the auditorium were enthusiastic and engaged during her lecture.

Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson joined thousands of students, parents, and teachers in the statewide Utah Reads Read-a-Thon. She and the Nebo School District Superintendent read to a class at Mt. Loafer Elementary in Salem. It was a great celebration of the magic of books and how they can spark imagination.
