NEWS RELEASE – Lt. Gov. Henderson releases Second Congressional District recount report

Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson today released a report detailing a software issue that impacted the recount process in two counties during the Second Congressional District recount. The error occurred within Election Systems & Software’s (ES&S) ElectionWare software, used for electronic adjudication of ballots.

NEWS RELEASE: Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson provides status update on Second Congressional District recount

Yesterday, the Tooele county clerk discovered an issue during their recount process affecting the way 55 adjudicated ballots were tallied. At this time, Washington County is the only other county in the Second Congressional District that is known to have experienced this issue. They are currently reviewing their adjudicated ballots.

SALT LAKE CITY (Mar. 5, 2024) – Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson has designated Greg Bell to serve as an independent advisor for any complaints that may arise during the 2024 gubernatorial election. Because she is up for re-election this year as the running mate to Gov. Spencer Cox, Lt. Gov. Henderson is sequestering herself from questions arising in their race.
