Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson accepts leadership role with National Lieutenant Governors Association

Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson formally accepted a leadership role with the nonpartisan National Lieutenant Governors Association on Friday.

Nominated and approved by her peers, Lt. Gov. Henderson began service immediately as an at-large member of the NLGA Executive Committee. The committee is responsible for guiding the association as its members work to address issues and advance solutions for states and territories.

“I’m honored to serve with outstanding public servants and leaders from across the county,” Lt. Gov. Henderson said. “America’s best ideas come from bipartisan cooperation. Utah has a lot to give and a lot to learn.”

NLGA is the professional association supporting lieutenant governors and seconds-in-command in all 50 states and U.S. territories. NLGA assists leaders with expertise and tools for effective governance and constituent service.

“NLGA thrives when leaders participate, share, and learn with their peers from across the country,” said Julia Brossart, director of the NGLA.  “Lt. Gov. Henderson’s peers value her as an engaged leader willing to share ideas from the Beehive State.”

The NLGA Executive Committee meets three times a year.
