Priorities

Return Utah
The groundbreaking Return Utah program aims to fill mid-level, government jobs with candidates who have an extended professional absence, breaking the traditional practice of circumventing resumes due to experience gaps.

Volunteer for Good
Utah’s high school service initiative encourages students to seek out, perform and track volunteer work. Service can boost mental health, strengthen community connections and support students’ academic endeavors.

Domestic Violence Prevention
After noticing a gap in the system, Lt. Gov. Henderson worked with the Department of Public Safety to create the Utah Intimate Partner Lethality Assessment Protocol to provide law enforcement with vital data and to give victims access to resources. This protocol gives officers an additional tool to identify the level of danger a victim is facing, and to connect victims with service providers.

Literacy
Lt. Gov. Henderson is visiting elementary schools all over the state to learn about successes and challenges in teaching literacy skills. She is meeting with educators, administrators and students to encourage open communication and collaboration. The Cox-Henderson administration has set a goal for 70% of students to read at or above grade level by the end of third grade.

Tribal Relations
Lt. Gov. Henderson works as the primary liaison between the state government and Utah’s eight federally recognized tribes (the Navajo Nation, the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe, the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, the Confederated Tribes of the Goshute Reservation, the Skull Valley Band of Goshute, the Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation, the Ute Mountain Tribe, the Northwestern Band of Shoshone Nation). They work together on issues including infrastructure, health care, education and economic development.

Diplomacy
Lt. Gov. Henderson leads international diplomacy for the state meeting with dignitaries to strengthen partnerships between Utah and foreign governments. Lt. Gov. Henderson hosts ambassadors, consuls general, congressional delegations from all over the world to discuss economic collaboration and strengthen Utah’s global engagement. In 2025, Lt. Gov. Henderson led a delegation to the United Kingdom to study nuclear technology and policies.
